Global Conference on Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Education

Nanjing, China – 7 & 8 November 2016

Together we will transform pharmacy!

An exceptional event took place in November 2016: the Global Conference on Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Education - "Creating a global vision for a global workforce".

This unique conference gathered pharmacy leaders from across the globe to set the future milestones for education and workforce development of pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists, creating a global vision for transformative pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences education.

The International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) was proud to host, on 7 and 8 November 2016, in Nanjing, China, this seminal platform to establish dialogue and consensus among policymakers, education leaders and regulators on how pharmaceutical workforce competence can be assured through education.

FIP led the adoption of a clear roadmap on which we can all rely to advance education and training through a shared vision to accept fully responsibility and accountability for improving global health.

Participants of the Global Conference on Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Education were able to input into the following crucial documents:

  • Global Vision for the Workforce and Workforce Development (in the context of education and training);
  • Pharmaceutical Workforce Development Goals;
  • Nanjing Statements on Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Education.

The draft documents were made available for public consultation.

The final Global VisionWorkforce Development Goals and Nanjing Statements on Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Education are now available.
